The Color Guard of the Redlands Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is a ceremonial group made up of members who dress in uniforms inspired by soldiers of the American Revolutionary War. The main role is to represent and honor the history and legacy of that era at public events.
Here’s what we do in simple terms:
- Historical representation: Members wear period-accurate uniforms (like Continental Army soldiers, militia, or even colonial civilians).
- Ceremonial duties: They participate in parades, memorial ceremonies, and patriotic events.
- Flag presentation: They carry historical flags, including early American flags and sometimes state or regimental flags.
- Educational role: They help teach people about Revolutionary War history through reenactments and appearances.
- Special events: You’ll often see them at events like Independence Day celebrations or commemorations of important Revolutionary War battles.
The Color Guard is like living historians who honor early American heritage.
